I did a gig at a hotrod show in Ventura last weekend and this guy had a booth with custom resophonics built out of old metal 5 gallon gas cans. They actually work pretty good. He didn't have any lapsteels with him but the ones on his website look nice.

OH MY GOD! I Loovvee those gas can ones!
Now THAT dude has style! I especially like "The road Warrior" one on the site. And the red one with the oil gauge.

He's my neighbor and friend. A great guy, true artist and surf culture icon. I'm way overdue for a jam with him and his wife Karen, who plays a mean bass.
