Well I finally decided on a double neck Magnum. It arrived last week but I was on vacation so I didn't get around to setting it up and trying it out until yesterday. After making some pedal height adjustments and such, I started playing and it wasn't long before I noticed the strings on the rear neck were irritating my right wrist.

Has anyone else had this problem when changing from a padded to a strung rear neck? Any suggestions other than long sleeves?

Joe

Sometimes I place a small hand towel (black) over the strings and bridge area, especially on a gig where it is hot and I my right hand is sweating.

As a general rule though, no cover, I just play..I probably got used to it...

Hey Tony,
I thought of the towel idea too, but what if you want to quickly change to the C6 neck for the second part of a lead break or something? Maybe I just need to Cowboy Up and get some calluses or just play through the pain.

Thanks for the response.

you could wear a terrycloth wrist band like the tennis pros... they come in colors and patterns too. Patriotic stripes... whatever.

Hey Dave,
Ha, ha. Thats a great idea! I wonder if they come in pink. Wouldn't that look great? A 225 pound steel player with pink wrist bands. Yeah. Thats the answer.

Long sleeve shirts are just about my standard outfit, exactly for that reason. Other things you can do are to sit higher and tilt your steel back slightly, both of which will reduce the pressure your arms have on the inside neck. Cool
