Saturday night June 2 we will be at one of the great remaining Czech dance halls in Texas. Harmonie Hall has a long and storied history with many of the best names in Texas music playing here at one time or another. As a special treat, this is a nonsmoking hall. Jeff Chance will be holding down the fiddle seat singing a few tunes.

Harmonie Hall is located in Shelby, Texas. C'mon out and talk steel or just listen to the band.

Ah, my man Jeffrey!! One of the best musicians and friends a man can have. Reminds me I need to call him. We were on Johnny Bush's band together. He also played for Johnny Lee and Gene Watson, and had his own band for years (Texas Pride, Chance) and his own record deal with some major label back in the 80's.

Jeff's a fine steel player as well, plays an old MSA.

Have a great gig and tell him I miss him.

I'll ask Jeff about the steel this weekend. He absolutely LOVES my Rains.

This thread reminds me that I need to go over some of the intro's and fills of his tunes we do.

He is still playing some with Bush. He was talking about a CD that he, Bush, and Willie Nelson are working on. I hope it happens for him.

Herb, our lead player is John Anderson who was also with Jeff in the Barons, Texas Pride, and Chance. For about two years we also used the former keyboard player from Chance. I've heard tons of road stories about those days.

Steve, we cut 6 tunes today at Sugar Hill in Houston for Jeff, et al.'s new project. Harlan Kubas on upright bass, Joe DeLeon on Drums, Jeff on fiddle and vocals, Randy Cornor on guitar, Allen Huff on piano and me on my Emmons through my '65 Twin.

We cut "Arms of a Fool", "What Did I Promise Her Last Night", "Wine Me Up", "An Empty Bottle, a Broken Heart", "Invitation to the Blues" and "Am I That Easy to Forget".

It was one of the best sessions I've been on! Great players and real country music. We will finish it in June.

Late breaking.... for reasons I don't know, Jeff will not be with us tonight.

Darn... I really enjoy his playing. Oh well, I'm fixing to head out in a little while for the almost three hour drive from Bremond.
