Mike,Working with Ray Pillow must have been a blast. One of my very favorite people and singers. Give him the shuffle and swing and let the man sing. Very underrated talent.

The origional post did not imply anyone was gone other than the responder.

Joe, yes, he still sings great... one of my faves...
Mikey D... H.S.P.
Music hath the charm to soothe a savage beast, but I'd try a 10mm first.

I'd come back as Bobbe Seymour! He has lots of steels and better airplanes than I've got.

back

The original posting asked if you could come back to earth as one steel player who would you choose. My response was Buddy Emmons and Mr. John Hughey was listed as well. My response was just a response to the question asked. I sure would not want to see anyone leave this earth, especially such great steel players as Emmons and Hughey. I believe those men names mentioned were listed as an honor to them. If I could come back I would not mind being John Hughey as well. His crying steel just sends chills down my spine.

Once at the convention Speedy and I were answering the call of nature at the same time, in adjoining urinals, and Speedy turned to me and said "Now you can tell all your friends that you and me hung out together."

I miss him.

Funny story, Mike.
I regret that I didn't look Speedy up when I moved to Tulsa. I might have gotten the steel bug much sooner.

My answer: Skeets McDonald
