Lay their bar between the necks of guitar that has a lacquer finish? THat's what the key heads for. |

Amen, Bobby!
(Actually, I have one steel (I won't name names) where the keyhead is in two separate pieces, so the bar could easily slide off with a slight bump, so I'm forced to pocket the bar or lay it between--Nossir, I don't like it!) |

There are steel guitar leg attachments that usually hold one bar and a tuning wrench. Mine holds two bars and a tuning wrench. Jody. |

Yes, and I applaud them for doing it! The idea of not having someplace to put the little "accessories", whether on the top of the guitar or underneath, in a small tray or drawer, is somewhat befuddling.
Seems most manufacturers worry about looks and sound far more than they do simple little practicalities.
Come on, guys...get on a stick. It ain't rocket science. Bags hanging off tuning keys and dingus-things attached to legs aren't exactly appealing. |

"DINGUS" things ?
what about the picks and tuning wrench ?
and..
Cellphone
Coffee
other drink(s)
set list
etc..and on and on and on...
how about this one from Musicians Friend, $12..
It qualifies as DINGUS too..but very efficient so it seems;
It looks like there is a plethora of stuff avaiabale to CLING to the legs...

When it comes to guitars with built-in accessory-holders, nothing can top the Lowebro.

The Lowebro is a step in the right direction.
A club owner came up and told me I was too loud and where I could put the Bar. |

The lowebro even has the right flavor of beverage. Love that Colorado Kool-Aid!
Seriously, the Jackson bar holder is a nice thing. Smart folks, those Jacksons! _________________ Doug Earnest

I use that O Tray in the picture. Granted that it sits at an angle when mounted on a steel leg, but I don't mind. It works very well, and doesn't cost a lot of money. |

I use a leg attachment from Bobby S. It holds 2 Bars, tuning key & pics. It's great. My carter doesn't have a mark on it.

What's the issue with putting the bar between the necks? I must be missing something. _________________ No chops, but great tone

I think the issue is one of cosmetic damage only..nicks ,dents scratches etc... .. |

I currently use 3 different bars during a normal gig. My BJS, an Emmons sitar bar , & a Black Phoenix. There is not enuf room on the key head..but my Derby is mica and I put a piece of that rubberised rubbermaid shelf liner stuff between the necks..just in case.. you can barely see it.
I also keep an extra set of picks and my tuning wrench up there. _________________ Bo Borland

I was thinking the same thing. I practise while I'm watching the television, and at times all sorts of things get stored between the necks, including spoons, magic markers, scissors...
...I won't even mention the plate of sandwiches on top of the strings, or the glass of Jack Daniels between the pegheads. |

...as an additional thought, maybe that's why they make four neck steels, so there's more storage space.
You know, there's a lot of empty space in the bodies of some steels; maybe you could build a drawer in there... |

Well, I've just wiped a load of breadcrumbs from between the necks of my practice guitar. I find that a plate takes up too much space (and tends to mute the strings), so I place my cheese-and-Marmite sandwiches between the necks.
Works for me....

On a lacquer finished guitar, it can cause dents in the lacquer.
Mica guitars are not as vulnerable. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.
