Ronnie, from what I've read and heard around the steel guitar world is the reason they quite making the P/P changer is probably cost and the simplicity of the modern all pull guitars. If memory serves me right, I believe the p/p's were built up into the mid '80s. At that time you could order either a p/p or an all pull.
I believe Henry had it right with the reasons for discontinuing the p/p; cost and the difficulty in changing your copedent. |
