Howdy, all. I play acoustic guitar with a string band called The Waybacks, and I'm going to be taking a little old MOTS Magnatone lap steel with me on the road. Weight is a huge consideration on airlines these days, so I'm looking to fit the guitar with some VERY lightweight legs, or perch it on some sort of featherweight stand.
Thanks so much.

I would suggest building your own utilizing aluminum tubing (office supply - flip chart easal)or even carbon fiber tubes (fishing store - heavy duty fishing poles) if weight is your main concern. I went the aluminum tubing route at first but was not happy with the stability of the finished stand. I ordered some steel legs from Bobbe and was real happy with the stability, quality, durability and beautiful finish his legs provided. A little heavier than aluminum but worth it in my opinion. Everythings' a tradeoff.
