How many tune their 9th string to D# the same as their 2nd string? I am thinking about it. Then my RkR lowers both to D. also this gives me a nice major chord with 10, 9, 7, 5, 2, 1. However then I lose the 7th Chord on the 9th String. Your Thoughts.

Wayne, this is another one of those where there is no right or otherwise, I think depends a lot on your playing style. I personally like & use the 9th string for the 7th chord quite a bit. I'm not a speed picker, so I depend more on the chord stuff. I left the 9th string as it was, even when I set up the Ext E9th. _________________ Mullen Lacquer SD 10, 3 & 5; Mullen Mica S 10 1/2 pad, 3 & 5; BJS Bars; LTD400, Nashville 112, DD-3, RV-3, Hilton VP . -- Gold Tone PBS sq neck; Wechter Scheerhorn sq neck. -- "Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone." -anon.- |

I have a knee lever that lowers the 2nd string, to C#, and lowers the 9th string to C#. That knee also raises the 7th string from F# to G and on the C6th neck also lowers the 2nd string, E to Eb. |

Stan, I'm not a speed picker eather, I hate to loose that 7th chord it is so convient. So maybe I will leave well enough alone.
Jack, My RKR lowers my 2nd and and 9th to C# with a 1/2 step on the 2nd to D from D#.
