Jim Vest was the steel player on "Set 'Em Up Joe".

Jim did the lion's share; I did it after him. Not sure who is now.

On record he has also used Buddy Emmons, and Sonny Garrish. Sonny played on the tune "If You're Gonna Do Me Wrong". Several guys have worked the road for Vern including yours truely.
Zumsteel steel guitars, Telonics and Peavey amplifiers, GHS strings.

A guy named Wayne Bridges was working the road with him and a very fine steel player and good person i might ad.

Jim I know Wayne Bridges. He's one outstanding steel player.He also used to build Sho-buds with Dwayne Marrs FOR Shot.

Ok, Didn't I read on here that Jim vest also played on Slide off your satin sheets by Paycheck ?

Jim yes, But Wayne Bridge also worked on several of the Gosden recordings and TV shows. Incredible player, ole' Wayne.

He played a show here at the spirit Of Suwannee Music Park, they had no steel for this show, also they had no amps or sound system on stage, head phones and I guess trans mitters on their insturments,very good sound and a great guitar player, I think he told me he was the band leader, it was a great show and the crowd really loved it.
Harold Meeks came over to Nan and I and gsve us $10.00 bucks and said go have your picture taken with him a lot of people fell in line after us.
