I have Wayne Hancock's Tulsa back in heavy rotation---fancy talk for I'm listening to it a lot. Eddie Rivers (Mr. Rivers, as Hancock calls out on every ride) is just killing me. Fine playing. Best inspiration & lesson I've had in ages. This is a great CD---good range of music with some real good guitar picking as well. Good honest playing. |

His stuff with Asleep at the Wheel is first rate as well: lots of fireworks, great sound.

I really like Eddie and his style. On a sad note I really miss Big Jim Murphy. _________________ ShowPro SD10, Mullens RP, Bose S1 Pro, GK MB200, MB500, Bugera T50 Tube amp with SlidgeRig, TC HOF reverb effect. |

Jon, "Tulsa" is in heavy rotation on my IPOD also. Eddie River's style and energy never fails to put a smile on my face. I want to pick up another Wayne Hancock record from Itunes. Any recommendations?
Also, is Mr. River's tone change stuff done with a Wah pedal?

Brian -
I believe Eddie's tone variation and volume is accomplished with the same pedal. It has a sideways function that gives it the "wah", while the up and down is the standard volume control.

The 'wah' sound you are hearing is definitely a simple tone control---as to whether he uses a volume/tone pedal or is working the knob on the guitar I can't say.
This is my first & only Wayne H album so I'm not the one to do any recommending. |

Wayne Hancocks' Bloodshot label compact discs are available through the co.'s website at www.bloodshotrecords.com reasonably priced with free shipping and they are all excellent IMHO. |

I love the way Ray Benson says "Eddddie!" I just picked up the new Asleep At The Wheel CD/DVD double disc, and it is awesome. _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars
