I love this guy. Does anyone know if he has a website or at the very least, who plays steel for him.

I go to church with Tony (when I can make it). We both played in the praise band, but my schedule keeps me away from home most Sundays, so I had to bow out. Tony is a wonderful guy, and very talented. I've done a few gigs with him. He told me that he is going to do a gospel CD soon. I know it will be great!

Tony's brother Larry is quite talented too. He used to play bass and front for Gene Watson (as did Tony), but Larry is now the music leader of a church as well. Smile

Leroy, I believe that it was JayDee Maness. It was early to mid 1970's...done in California.

You're all "Absolutely Right" about Tony. Wink

I love the strong vocals and ever-present steel in his recordings. They play him a lot on XM and I've got an old vinyl of TB that I burned on CD.

I better check that web site because I'm bound to find plenty there better than anything FM has played in 5-10 years.

When I got to L.A. in '72 I checked out the Palomino Club, where the band killed me! I stayed all night to hear the members introduced. It was Tony and Larry Booth, JayDee, Norm Cass and Archie Francis. I had previously only heard JayDee on "records" (large black disks, 12" in diameter. You need a special analog device called a "turntable" to play them. My kids find them fascinating.). I was back many times.

Hey Pete... you and me both. I used to see them at the Pal alot. I still remember them as one of the best bands I'd ever heard.

I remember those days, (nights), at the Palomino. My best times were watching and listening to Jay Dee there. Occasionally there would be a famous actor drop by. Jay Dee, IMO, long ago reached that point when "it just don't get any better".

Tony Booth will be live at "THE FINISH LINE" In West Ft. Wth. (I30& Linkcrest) for an appearance June 2nd. Country Night Live will be backing him, and we ARE LOOKING FORWARD to it!

Tony is and has always been one of my most FAVORITE country singers. I can't hardly wait.

Hey Leroy, Our band ("Country Night Live") will be backing Tony just the one night, June 2nd at the Finish Line in West Ft. Wth.

Playing steel with us is the great Buddie Hrabal.
If you've not heard Buddie Play, he's terrific!

From what I know about anything East of Fort Worth, I don't think "Looney Toons" is very far from Dallas, so just keep coming West on I 30 and get off on Linkcrest, go under the freeway, and hang a left on the service road, and the club is on the Right. better get your reservations in early.

Seriously, "Country Night Live " plays the Finish Line every Tuesday night also.

May 18th, @ the Finish Line, we back up the great Jack Greene! Come see us anytime.

Leroy, Tony does not have a "road band". He only does occasional singles, and uses the house band at the venue.
