Does anyone know of or use Alesis Midiverb 2,3,4 ? I understand the Midiverb 2 only has factory presets. Are any of these any good ? Any effects I've ever used the factory presets were aweful for steel...Rene

Rene, I used the midiverb 2 back a few years ago and liked it. Yes it only has factory presets but they aren't bad. If you are wanting to get into something that you can change I would suggest using the Digitech XL. I am using a Roctron Inteliflex which is a great unit as well. They both are user friendly and have preset channels as well as users. They will cost a bit more than your midi verb though.

Rene I've been using a Midiverb 4 as the main effects processor for my PA rack for years. I think it works great for that. IMHO for guitar and steel, hands down, the best effects device for sound and ease of use is the T.C. Electronics G Major. This device was designed for guitar. Most of the others are geared toward PA use.

The Midiverb II only has a couple of presets that are really nice. If I remember right, #18 seems to be a nice verb.

You want a good cheap verb, look for an Alesis Wedge. Free standing little wedgy looking thing that sounds great. MUCH better than the VerbII. MANY usable verbs and delays.
