Time Jumpers
Who is playing C6 pedals for the Time Jumpers in their youtube videos? He is doing excellent work for a great sounding group.

Its a real neat website, tell history on the man himself, plus his recording resume. If you like C6, buy his new "Classics" CD. I have had the pleasure of meeting him and let me tell ya, he's just a great person as he is a steel player

John Hughey plays beautifully with the Time Jumpers, but let's not forget what an amazing job Johnny Cox did with the band before he moved to Texas.
On my last visit to the Station Inn I was treated to John's wonderful artistry, but my earlier visits were just as memorable.
They're an incredible band - individually and collectively. See my recent post in 'Music' for my impressions of their DVD - I'm still reeling from it!

Last year after Scotty's Convention we stopped by Nashville for a couple of days and caught the show at the Station Inn. I was about 7 or 8 feet away and right in front of John Hughey and was totally amazed. I hadn't heard him play that much C6th before as I was mostly aware of his legendary E9th work with Conway, Vince G. & others. The entire band was awesome without a weak link anywhere. Every tune sounded like a polished recording but totally alive. They had three fiddle players the night I was there and together they played some great harmony parts. It was like the things we used to hear from Spade Cooley's band or Tex Williams and the Western Caravan. They even had an accordion! Can you imagine that? Even if you can't stand an accordian this guy made you like it with his great fills and rides, what a player! Then to top it off, Ranger Doug (The Idol of American Youth" was on rhythm guitar......Including the steel guitar convention and attending the Tuesday night Opry, this visit to the Station Inn had to be the best musical experience of my trip.....Don't miss 'em......JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

Did you see my other thread in 'Music' (see 'Time Jumpers' DVD!!!')?
Take a moment to read it - you and I share the same feelings about accordions, all except Jeff Taylor's!
As you say - just like a recording, yet the liveness and spontaneity are still there. It's all done at minimal volume and with maximum dynamics. A real music-lesson for us all.

Every musician in this band is an old pro, and it shows! Yet the fun they have making music is passed on to everyone in the audience. John Hughey is awesome on both C6th and E9.
I had the pleasure of seeing this band live last summer in Nashville, and I now have the DVD. Production values are excellent in the DVD. Audio and visuals are great, and they have the camera on the right person when he is playing the solo. This is cowboy jazz at its finest.
