When I first saw the thread title, I thought that Jay Dee and David were going to actually play a tune by Pearl Jam.

Perhaps it should be the Perl Jam? Wink

David, That is just some awesome picking. Jay Dee definitely has caught my attention and that MSA guitar sounds sooo good.

At 20 years of age, after hearing him on record for years, I spent a couple nights doing nothing but intently watching him at the Pal, with Ray Sanders.
JayDee ran (and rightly so) the band, and I've never
got over it...
As Jay Ganz suggested, MSA would do well to post a link to this clip.
Magic stuff, as always...

I must say that I just watched this video again. Jay Dee is just a fantastic steel player and a very down to earth individual as well. I hope to see more of these videos on the forum.

This is what happens every year at our jam. This is what you missed if you didn't attend.

I realize some of you live too far from California to come. but those of you who are within driving distance- this is what you can expect to see and hear if you come next year.

BTW although I find it slighty embarassing that somebody named th jam after me, I must point out it's PERL jam with no letter A. The only think I have in common with a pearl is the shape of my belly. (Extremely round. Crying or Very sad)

If I sent Mike a letter and it was stolen, would it be 'The Perlowined Letter'?

edited because my thoughts didn't didn't go to print without sounding ungrateful or insulting....lets's try this...Jay Dee is an incredidble player and even though the vidieo quality (phone cam?) isn't that great the playing still is.

Yeah David, I know...you're quite a character and a monster player yourself. I've heard you and Jay Dee burn the house down in Madera a few years back. Gonna do it again sometime? It was great.

I guess my thoughts were that he is such a good player that if someone, somehow hadn't ever heard him play that the video may not do him justice...maybe I'm just overly concerned...

Thanks for sharing though!
