I received my new Celtic Cross “Kona” the other week and what a beauty she is. This is the finest looking instrument I’ve ever owned or even seen for that matter. The highly figured Australian black wood with curly maple binding and abalone inlay looks amazing. The best part is, the instrument sounds as good as it looks.

I own two other Celtic Cross instruments, a baritone and a regular weissenborn. The Kona is a great addition to my collection with a very beautiful sound all its own. The tone is clean and crisp with great sustain and sparkle. This instrument has as much volume and punch as my old tri-cone, no finger picks required.

After several different tuning I find that this instrument sounds best in a low “G” tuning. It sounds dam fine in a “D” tuning but seems to like a little more pitch on the treble side.

Thanks Neil, beautiful job. A real pleasure doing business with you, as always.

If any one is interested in one of these great instruments I can e-mail off some photo’s or get in touch with Neil @ neilscelticcross@shaw.ca
