Someone asked me the other day what model my 6-string Dobro was and when it was made. I told him that I did not know and that I had no idea. Now my curiosity is peaked and I am wondering how to determine this information.

I purchased this guitar used about 25 years ago.
A serial number 15xx is stamped in to the end of the headstock.
The Logo on the headstock has a small ® trademark symbol to the right of the Lyre.
The tuners are poor quality strip tuners with white-ish plastic knobs. The headstock is slotted.
The top & back are bound with a single ply of white plastic.
Their is a single Phillips head screw which holds the neck in place and it appears to be original.
The fretboard has 19 frets total with a single dot on frets 3, 5, 7, 9, 15, & 17. Frets 12 & 19 have 2 dot inlays. All of the dots appear to be white plastic and appear to be the same size.
Where on the instrument might I find additional information.
Does a good web site exist which details the various trivial information which one needs to figure out the model and manufacturing dates for these instruments?

The screw in the back looks original. The head sits on a countersunk finishing washer. This washer sits in a slightly recessed hole.
It was my impression when I purchased this Dobro that the various of owners and controllers at the Dobro companies & subsidiaries over the years had for quite a long time not used anything resembling a serial number system which would provide any useful data. Certainly not as useful as the serial number on a C.F. Martin or Alembic instrument. Alembic in particular has kept remakable and detailed records.
But when I purchased this guitar the first thing one asked a seller over the phone was if it had a spun or stamped cone.
