I was just playing Herb's old tape, "Steelin Memories" and it is some great playing, the way I like it.

- that is indeed a National New Yorker on the stand.

David L. - you have an ear for steels my friend. While it's not a double neck, both Herb's steel part (melody) and mine (the other part) were played on Ricky Bakelites.

G-man, how could anyone possibly enjoy a ukulele too much??

Especially this one. Before Herb came here for the sessions he told me I needed to get a Martin Soprano Uke. He was so right.

Rick-You and Herb make quite a talented pair.

I used to play a national New Yorker , played a lot of gigs with it Hawaiian and pop. Around 1937.

That tone control on the end had 3 clik stops and could go from bass to treble in a flash to get that boowah.

I liked it but traded it in for a Vega D8 non pedal. I should have kept it , but didn't have money enough to keep two steels. ..al

Al, yep New Yorkers are sweet alright. I have a 30s 8 string too and I really like it, especially since I installed the Rick Aiello NIBro magnets. The string spacing is a little close though, it takes some getting used to . .
