hi there im new

Post by Jani Peter Sandvik »

hello everyone

im new here and ill tell about my self.
I have been playing pedal steel since i was 13 years old and im 27 now. I play a Sandwich double 10 with 8 pedals and 7 knees, and i have built it my self for 7 years ago and it sounds just like the other guitars. and i have barcus berry pickups on it.
Also i have a new project going on to build a new one wich should be 10 times better than this first one it will be more designed version, cause when i made the first one i scetched with paper and pencil, but now i have the applications and knowledge on how to create scetch and design it as 3d its very exciting then after you have made all parts and assemble the whole guitar on your screen in 3d but as i always use to
say that theory and practical dont walk hand in hand cause im in the metal industry.

Also i play much more than pedal steel guitar, i also am a deathmetal/grindcore drummer in a band called ConTrash. and also play guitar and dobro. And also i have recording possibilities here home i use a presonus firepod audiointerface on my computer and its a 8 channel micpreamp and i love it

also if you wanna se my guitar go to

So, allow me to officiate the arrival of our new buddy from over the pond, Peter! Welcome aboard! I do have a question if you don't mind me asking. If your Sandwich brand steel would sport 3 necks, wouldn't that be a club, a Club Sandwich? :D

There has got to be a story on why you call your steel "sandwich". You could be the only deathmetal steel player that I know of.

Welcome to this forum Jani!!
Nice steel you made there... I am sure it works fine. Tell us more about it.
What kind of wood did you use?
What is the weight?
Is there any cabinet drop?
All-pull?
Just a suggestion...But I thought "Sandvik" would be a great name for it!

Welcome to the forum Jani. Though I'm primarily a pedal steeler, my first instrument was drums. I still play and have a nice kit of Yamaha Maple/Birch Absolute. I dont' play death metal though... that would probably give me a heart attack.

and its all pull system with three raise and three lower
