What year was the superb introduced? What is the difference in the superb and the preceeding model?

The Superb is keyless,25.5" scale and has a unique anti-cabinet drop device in which the tuning head block rocks on a hinge and the whole guitar is pulled microscopically sharp by tunable secondary linkages hooked to any or all pedals. This brings the guitar back into perfect tune under any combination of pedal induced cabinet drop. Also the changer pulls laterally instead of in a rocking cam motion like all other steels - totally eliminating all string breakage.

Sonny,
I'm not sure about the first year it was made.
Not sure about the year of mine, but I saw one on the forum that was a 2001 with a tuning head like mine. Bill Stafford would know, or maybe Scotty.
Scotty sells them. I just ordered the colored fret boards for my D-10. All white markers are a little confusing to me.
I've got to say that my EXCEL sure plays easy and smooth. No nasty overtones like a keyed guitar.
I think I'm really gonna like it, although I'm still adjusting things to the way I play. Still learning about the guitar, and like it more every day.
Never thought I would play a keyless and after I do a gig with it I may wonder why I ever played a keyed guitar.

Later, Jerry

Sonny, Mitsuo built the first model in 1998. It was not named when he shipped me my first EXCEL. I played it for a few days and this model actually named itself. SUPERB kept ringing in mind every time I touched this instrupment. Sent Mitsuo email confiriming my complete satisfaction and that this was a SUPERB steel guitar. I was very honored when his company named this model on my recommendation.
Thanks to all for their support of Mitsuo and his engineering marvel. SUPERB also describes Mitsuo Fujii.
