You know we have the "Emmons" setup and the "Day" setup. Well alot of changes have been made over the years. The "Franklin" pedal etc.
I think a Franklin setup should be a standard option now.
What ya reckon ???

Pleading ignorance; is there a Franklyn set-up other than the 4th pedal Franklyn change? (of course he probably has a lot of other personal changes that we don't know about) That alone seems to be coming on strong from what I see, hear & read. On my Ext E9 I just added that Franklyn pedal to my Emmons set-up which has a Day lever change added. I got so much stuff now, I don't know what to do with it.

Well he lowers his E's to Eb with the RKL, as I do - but I think most guys who started out on a Shobud probably continue to use this lever for the E lowers.
To play a Franklin setup I guess you would have to have the same changes he does !!!! |

| I don't see where the "Franklin pedal" is that common. I don't recall anyone in our club that said they had it. |

| Come on guys, give it a rest. There would be a Hughey set up, a Brumley set up, a Mooney set up, a Myrick set set up, a Roberts set up , a Hinson set up etc. and on and on. PS or (not likely) even a Sanders set up. Jody. |

Well.... The 'Rettig' set-up is on at least two steel guitars that I know of!

Lowering 5,6 and 10 on the same Pedal or Lever is not a set-up, it's an extension of what the Guitars can offer, and a very good one.
Once you acquire even a minimal understanding of it's useage and begin to apply the additional phrases , you will clearly miss it if it is NOT on other Steels you own or purchase.
My own little opinion is that it should become standard on all E9th Steels, making them 4+5...
