Well, that's a change. We'e played on the same bill with him three times in the last five years. He didn't have a steel player at any of those gigs. Nothing personal, but the first gig we did with him, he got a tad intoxicated and began screaming obscenities thru the sound system. The last couple of times he was much more in control.

Stu... yes, Jack is from Texas. He's been working the Texas dance hall, county fair circuit for a long time.
We played county fairs with him. There are about fifty zillion "Texas Artists" in the same mold. All of them make a lot of noise about how "Nashville sucks". Of course, a very few of them hit it big, like Jack looks like he is doing. I think they are all descended from Gary Nunn and Jerry Jeff Walker;)

I wish him all the luck in the world and I'm really thrilled he may have added a steel player.

Here is a link to some video of them live using a steel player. Click on the link that says live performance and scroll down to Jack Ingram. There are a couple of shots of the steeler in the videos.
I don't know who it is.

Steve,Thanks for the info.An interesting thing about Texas is that it's so big you can tour around there a make a living without leaving the state.I went to the Wharton Co. fair about 6 years ago with a friend of mine and we saw a band that had a semi-truck filled with P.A.stuff lights, and he said that they we're offered a record deal but passed because they made more money doing it themselves I've know Gary P since I lived in Austin in the 70's.I guess that you're talking about people like Pat Green,Robert Earl?or are they the ones who've made it?I did a tour playing lead guitar with Jerry Jeff Walker...better living thru chemistry,I'm lucky to be alive...Stu

LOL There are several bands like that. Us (Nightshift)
Tubb, Emotions, & Rhythm of the Road. County fairs, street dances, events, wedding, parties.. our turf. Tonight we are in Columbus, Texas KC Hall with Jeff Chance on Fiddle and Vocals.

Jerry Jeff... what a nice guy. We played a gig with him at Silver Wings Ballroom a few years back. Pat Green, Robert Earl, and fifty others... The Texas Music scene.
