Waco Area Steelers

Post by Steve Stallings »

There used to be quite a few steelers in the Waco area. I'm thinking that Buddy Bryant used to host a get together? Who's out there?

Steve, I live about 50 miles from Waco. I also would like to know who the steel players are in that area. When I started playing I use to go over there to hear the players in that area. There were several good ones, some of them were, Glen Paul he played the old Western Club off the circle,as did Skeeter Black,Raz Moore played Club Selma out on highway 31. I also heard a good player overthere named Willie Kalousa(not sure on spelling). I would think there would be alot steel players in the area.

Hi Steve, Bill Dearmore and Steve Palusek live around Belton, and Willie Kalusa is one of the best, I ever heard but haven't heard anything out of him in a good while. Jody.

Thanks guys...
Bud, Bill, and Steve are all long time friends of mine. I'm trying to track down the folks living in the Waco area itself.

Another really fine steeler that lives in Belton is Les Shelly. Doyle Grisham is from there as well.

I think Lou Rochelle used to live in the Waco area as well.
