I will be out in San Francisco for a week. Are there any good pedal steel stores out there?

there are a lot of really cool little hole in the wall music and guitar stores - but its pretty bleak out here regarding pedal steel.
I usually just order stuff online
there are a bunch of steel players out here though! What week are you going to be here? |

Leave Wed. I was looking for a store where I could try a new bar out and maybe an amp.

Bill,
There is a store in El Cerrito which is about a half hour away from San Francisco, depending on what time of day you drive there. It's not a store devoted to pedal steel, but the owner does play steel and sometimes teaches upstairs. I actually haven't been there for a couple of years, but I do remember there being a couple of amps and some steel toys there. I would say be sure to call first before just heading over there. The owner's name is Duane Wong and the store is called Music Works. It's on 11225 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito, and the phone number is 510 232 1000. Good luck.

If you can make it out to Concord (at least an hour from SF) you could visit with Tom Bradshaw. He deals the Dunlop bars for a lovely price. |
