Two things prompted me to do this arrangement. The first was attendance at
a Classic Guitar concert last Friday at
the local University. There was music in Duet, Quartet, and ensemble. Beautiful! I came away with the feeling I must write something for a Quartet of Hawaiian Steel Guitars.
I chose Roses are Blooming because just a few
weeks ago we acknowledged the 92nd birthday
of Doc Williams of Wheeling, West Virginia.
I always caught his shows whenever he was in
town and will always remember him singing this one: Roses Are Blooming.

Hi Roy,
I love all your music, would like to have you record everything on a cd, just for listening.
The main reason for this post, is, the song," Roses Are Bloomin", a song I played some time ago, (about 1957)
and wonder if it could be the same one?
the lyrics would be somthing like this, they seam to fit.
"Roses are bloomin, come back to me darlin, come back to me, never more roam, Robins are singin church bells are ringin' roses are bloomin come home."
Thanks in advance,
Jay Y.

Sounds like we are on the same channel Jay!
Roses are blooming
Come back to me darling
Come back to me darling
And never more roam
Robins are singing
Church bells are ringing
Roses are blooming
Come back my own".
Thanks for your comments.

Thanks Herman and Andy.
Sometimes the site works well and at other
times it is slow? The whole tune should
play however.
I have the parts tabbed and available. The Classic Guitar accompanyment MP3 will be included therein. If you have a recorder that
allows you to overdubb then you can work
with this material and have some fun doing so. I used a Gibson lap steel for all the
parts. I could have used different guitars
for the different parts which would have given the song another sound no doubt?
If interested in the arrangement please email me.

Hi Roy,
Thanks for the return.
How I loved that song! My brother and I played it until the mid 60's.
Second verse if I remember was, "Moonlight was shinin' the night that we parted, I held you and kissed you and called you my own, words soft and tender you said that you loved me, Roses are Bloomin Come Home."
Once again, thanks for the sweet memories, along with all the many others you have posted.
Jay Y.
