This Forum is one of the most wonderful experiences in the whole, wide world. Where can a musician go these days and be comparably enriched within just moments of his/her arrival?
Here's a tune demonstrating some of Jerry Byrd's most exciting "pedal sounds".....done on a six/seven string lap steel. And TONE....
Give it a listen: http://www.jerrybyrdfanclub.com/jerrysMusic.htm

Ray, if you don't mind me saying, I really don't like referring to that as Jerry's "pedal sounds"... Reason being, he sounds way prettier than any pedal player I've ever heard.

Ray: Just another demonstration that shows why Mr Byrd was the master of touch and tone

Ray,

All the above!! WOW!!

I wish I could get even just .50 of the "tone" that JB did at the upper end of the scale. All of it and the Intro is amazin!!!

I like it. BMI has 10 different songs with this title. Here's some technical info from BMI, and the lyrics to hum along with:

SOMEWHERE IN MY DREAMS

When day is done I hurry home and get back in my bed
Cause only in dreams can I relive the things that she once said
Once again she's in my arms and once again I'm king
So in a minute or three she would be with me
Somewhere in my dreams

I don't care about the weather let it rain or storm
Long as I'm somewhere in dreams and she's back in my arms
I come alive when I'm asleep at least that's how it seems
So if you don't mind I'll spend my time
Somewhere in my dreams

I don't care about a thing I just know that she's gone
But she comes back when I'm asleep and that's why I go on
You can have reality kept on mean a thing
Now I've got to leave

Thanks so much Ray, I love that old country music more than anything else and then to have Jerry Byrd providing the steel part is just beyond! Who is the singer?
