It's on the Aces Back to Back LP with Shot Jackson, which by the way is a great LP.
I have it somehwere, if someone doesn't get it for you before the end of today (WED) I'll dig it out and fly it over by email..
This is the one that has BE playing a kinda jazzy Dobro solo as well... |

Buddy recorded a great, perhaps the best, steel version of the tune, but it's been a standard for years and years. Ben Keith recorded it in the early 60's with Faron Young. Jim Loessberg recorded a killer version a couple years ago.
These were all in what I'd call a "straight eighth note" rhythm. The original recording, by Bill Doggett, featured saxophone and guitar and was a slow groove shuffle. Pure R&B. Bill Doggett of course gained much greater fame with "Honky Tonk."
Doggett's hits were back in the 1950's. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
