"Last Letter" By Buddy Emmons on the Shot Jackson tribute CD. It almost caused me to wreck my car the first time I heard it, seriously!
"Bluesman" done by Lloyd Green. I still wish he had recorded that song on his last album. I am content with "Jukebox Charlie".
though.
Jimmy Day's intro and fills on the Johnny Bush hit "You Ought To Hear Me Cry". Of course his turn around on Bush's "Farewell Party" wasn't too shabby either. It still gives me chills to listen to it.

Lots of Emmons & Day tunes & breaks...I'm still discovering work from these gents that most here have known for years. If I had to choose one based on chill bumps every time it's Sneaky on Take It Easy/Our Lady of the Well. Someday Soon did the same for me when it came out and hooked me on *THAT* sound.

Re: Most beautiful steel guitar song
I'm very surprised to see that Jimmy Day's name isn't mentioned all over the posts here, concerning this topic. Listen to his rendition of A House Is Not A Home, Am I Losing You, Lonely Street(All Those Years album). I Love You Because, I Love You So Much It Hurts Me(Steel and Strings album). Jimmy Day reminds me of someone "making love" to his steel guitar. I've heard stories where he would go into jam sessions without pedals and play all the bar slants you could imagine. There's alot of great players but there's only a handful that make you feel the "magic".
