Do you want to keep the originality of the
guitar. If not go into it and put a regular 1/4 inch plug in it.
I bought a used old steel and it had one and
I am going to change it.
It had a loose connection, but I dont know if it was in the cord or the jack. |

The original connector on the National was an Amphenol brand. Valco put them on other guitar brands also. Angela probably has what you need. |

My National Dynamic has the Amphenol type jack on it...when I got David Lindley to autograph it, he said that his National had that type jack & he had changed it to a 1/4 inch jack & it did not sound as good. He told me not to change mine, to play it as long as I could & change it only if I had problems with it. I carry 2 of the adaptors that screw on & have a female 1/4 inch so that I can use any regular guitar cord. |

Thanks guys, especially re to change or not to change, it sounds pretty 'out there' at the mo so I'll leave as is and go the amphenol way |
