I played this weekend without my Peterson VS-II because it's at the Peterson place for repairs. The first thing that I noticed was how bright, and clean my steel sounded.I think that I like the sound better going thru the tuner?I would guess that most of you like the cleaner sound better?Going thru the VS-II seems to add a nice mid-range that I like. _________________ Steeltronics Z-pickup,Desert Rose S-10 4+5,Desert Rose Keyless S-10 3+5... Yes, I have this same tuner and it's not true
by-pass. It's much better than the Boss TU-2,
but there's still some change in the sound.

I tried my VS-II 'in line' once and I thought it sounded like a wet blanket had been draped over my amp. It does make the midrange more evident because sucks the highs out of the equation. I'm not a fan of a real trebly sound but I like to keep the highs and offset them with a nice full sounding low end. Now that I'm playing through a tube preamp I'd be even more careful about running my signal through any active device. Love the tuner, but never 'in line' for me. |

I also never leave a tuner inline. Is there some reason for you to need it all the time? I guess if you like the sound with it in there,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, |
