Most beautiful steel guitar song
Just wondering what is everyone's single favorite pedal steel song (most beautiful steel song)?
Just looking to expand my horizons.
(Personally I would vote for Someday Soon)
Thanks!
Bob

Buddy Emmons.. Canon in D major.... followed closely by his solo in Someday Soon..
Some others in the same league...
Rusty Young solo in Bad Weather
Tom Brumley solo on instrumental version of Faded Love
Lloyd Green solo on Alan Jackson's Remember When
Tom Brumley solo on Together Again..
Of course there are hundreds more, but to me these stand out in my mind.. oh did I mention Teach Your Children??/... bob

Curly Chalkers (or Johnny Coxs')version of "Shadow Of Your Smile" is probably my all time favorite. But, Tommy White did a great rendition of "Movin' On" on his latest album that I really like. (The Rascal Flatts song, not the Hank Snow song).

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

Tom and Bob, it should be noted that Weldon Myrick is on Highways and Heartaches, too!!!
All three steel players play great on that album, but Lloyd Green's two songs were what drove me to take up pedal steel. His work on "You've Got a Lover" is wonderful, but the outro solo on "Nothing Can Hurt You" is just as, maybe even more (if that's possible), beautiful.
