Topic: Question on the BS Revelation/ Black box |

| I wanted to know, can I go from my steel to the Revelation to Hilton VP to NV112, or should I just go with the Black Box.? with the same hook up. I know the Revelation is alot of $$$, but I was thinking why get the BB first and wish I got the REV, any input would be nice. Thanks, Dave |

| David, there's no problem using the RTP with your NV-112 and Hilton pedal. The recommended setup is a three wire harness to connect your steel directly to the RTP input and the volume pedal to the front panel volume/effects loop on the RTP. Then you run from the rear of the RTP to the 'power amp in' on the rear of your NV-112. It simply bypasses the preamp of the NV-112 and turns the amp into a powered speaker cab. BTW, it sounds totally amazing. I had a Blackbox and that was really nice, but the RTP is a whole other dimension. The tonal purity and flexibility has to be experienced to be believed. |

| Bill, so my steel to REV input, volume pedal to the front of the REV, witch is Volume input, then from the rear of the REV. to the back of my amp, power amp in,now will this cut down on the power of my amp, and I will also have no plug-in on the front of the amp? |

| That's correct David. You'll have nothing plugged into the front panel of your NV-112. If you did you'd be running through the NV-112's non-tube preamp which would defeat the purpose of the Revelation preamp entirely. As far as losing power...well the technicians among us can better answer that but I can't see why you would. Your power output comes from the power amp section of the NV-112 which remains unaffected as far as I know. On the one gig I've used it on so far I certainly didn't notice any power loss. If anything it gave an illusion of more power just because of the improved punchiness the tubes have. |

Ok guys what's the best way to hook up the rv3?
Do i come out of my guitar into the rv3 - then to my vol pedal - then to my amp?
What is the proper way to run the cables?

Here are a few pics of my setup. I modified the rackcase I bought by putting recessed dishes on both ends for connections so I never have to open the bottom of the case. The toggle switch mounted to one of the dishes I added to allow me to turn off the effects processor without unplugging the case. ( the M350 doesn't have a power switch)

Bill, Thanks, that looks good,nice set-up.The reason why I asked this question is because I never heard of a 3 wire conection, normal hook ups are not in question.and I have other Boss effects in line now,RV-5,DD-6, and used when needed, But like most of us, new toys must be explored.......
