Any oldtimers out there remember the "Electromuse" 6 str.lap steels ?? They were advertized on the backs of comic books and were available around 1945 , "46 & "47 for about $69.oo with case as I recall. I bought mine in 1945. ( For a few bucks more I could have bought a Rick. Fry Pan !! ) They also had a fairly good inexpensive amp that a lot of guitar players used before Fender really came into prominence. Also they had guitar strings wound with pure iron , highly magnetic , windings that were real powerful but rusted up after a couple nights playing from sweaty hands! You had to rub the strings with an oily rag to keep the rust down! Eventually I switched to Gibson Sonomatic Monel steel wound strings. This is going back many years !! Eddie "C" ( the old geezer )

My brother has an Electromuse--shaped like a paddle, very light, and fun to play. I see them on Ebay from time to time.

I had one for a spell. Not a bad sound but had nothing that caught my eye, so I sold it. Like he said, looks like a paddle. Seems like they are around $150-175 now on ebay if in good cond.

My first steel [in 20 years] was bought several years ago to express myself after the passing of great bassist and friend. I have also brought an electromuse amp to life last week, not bad so far. Don't forget the patented I-beam pickup. "spook" bakelite ric, champion, supro's.

I acquired one recently and am trying to find out more on the history of these instruments.
