I'm not sure if Scotty still stocks his 1980 "Anthology Of Pedal Steel Guitar"? But, I want to add a serious plug for this great piece of lesson material. It takes you through basics to advanced E9th in tab and audio. I still have my copy. No, I won't sell it!! If it's no longer in copy, too bad! :) It consists of alot of pedal and knee combinations and licks that can be used to enhance any level of playing skill. If you have steel students or learning on your own it would be a great book and cassette as a teaching course. For girl steel players too!
And no, I didn't get paid for this advertisement. :)
See you all at Col Ballroom.

OK Tom,......What your Weather window look like for the show?....... how about: Chance of some jammin' early Friday evening turning over to a full fledged steel show on Saturday with a total accumulation of 18 to 20 steel players along with everyones favorite songs and a hot back-up band remaining steady throughout the day?

I've got good and bad news.
Bad news
Do to Mel Tillis's schedule, Terry Bethel had to cancel this years show. We hope to have Terry join us in one of our future shows. Good luck Terry we'll miss you this time.

Good news
We are lucky enough to have Ron Elliott do our show. I know all of us are ready to welcome Ron and his bride to Davenport. Ron thanks for helping us at such a short notice. We are all looking forward to another great Quad Cities Show.

See you all soon. Thanks Bruce

Many thanks Bruce for calling and offering me a chance to help. I'm looking forward to seeing so many of our friends there. Maybe some of our friends that missed the show in Waterloo,..as we all did, will be able to make this one. I'm sorry Terry had to go Tillising, but I am glad I can help. Thanks again. Deepest Regards to all, Ron

Sorry to hear that Terry can't make the show. But, it's also great to hear that Scotty, Mary, Ron and Leslie will be there. The February ice storm kept us from hearing our featured players, Ron's and Scotty's expertise on steel at our Waterloo show. I doubt ice will fall at the end of April in Iowa. However,in Iowa, bananas may fall from the heavens and make the roads slippery. Mark Wayne is our area banana expert. He might be able to predict a Chiquita storm in advance. And Michael Scott and Miss Lana will be there. One big and close family of players and steel guitar production. Bigger and better every year.

Looking Forward To The Show

Post by Rich Mounce »

Really looking forward to getting to the show this year. After a battle with some health issues I am finally back up and running. This is going to be a great show and look forward to seeing a bunch of my friends around the quad cities.

Bruce and the guys always do a great job on this show and everyone who can should make it!
