Rolling Eyes I have been using an RE-200 Evans mostly as a practice amp and I'm really pleased with the sound. Great amp in a small package. Anyone else using one of these?

Jerry i just bought one from friend of mine a 2003 model and love the sound and light weight. Since i only play in my basement, i split the work between the Evans and an old Twin Reverb, both fine sounding and fun to use. Use an Altec 421A, an EVM 12L and Altec 4178H at different times to revel in the great sound of these with the Twin. If you use your Evans as a practice amp, what is your main amp? The Evans has a good bit of power and presence and for me will suffice to play anyplace that i would be likely to play. Hope you enjoy yours as much as i do mine. TJH

I also have a NV-400 that I bought new around 1999. Like the sound of it, and have never had a problem with it. The RE-200 though, has a cleaner sound to me. Plus like you say, the weight difference is what sold me on the Evans. I also play a Telecaster through it and I am pleased with the sound and power of this little critter.

Two weeks ago at Queens arena. Scotty Henderson played through a 200 with a 10 inch spkr. It blew me away, the sound and projection were great. I wish they weren't so exspenseive, I would own one.

I have had an RE200 for a month and it`s an amazing little amp ! Same preamp and power amp as the SE 200 , only the speaker is smaller. The original speaker (Deltalite II)sounded good but a Weber California 10" with the aluminum dome sounds GREAT. A few pounds more weight , so what...
The amp held its own unmiked last week with 2 electrics, drs, bass and keys in a loudish r&r situation .
I had flight case made for it with an accessory compartment and the height happens to be just like my Steelers Choice seat. So I have a cushion which rides inside the case and attaches outside with Velcro for sitting on. A Pac-amp-a-seat ? Weight is under airline limits with all cords , volume pedal and a few effects pedals. VERY practical travelling !
I`ll post pics of the seat one of these days........

Olli,

Sounds like a pretty cool set-up. Especially for traveling light. Played a small gig earlier this evening with my Telecaster and RE-200, sound was great! Look forward to seeing pictures of your Pac-amp-a-seat. Idea

I have had a SE200 for several years and really like the light weight and clean sound. I use it on about 50% of my jobs. Never experienced any problem with it. Depending on the venue whether I take the Evans or my Walker unit.
