Our friend, Gene Monday [who played at one time with Freddie Hart] still has a Fender Guitar that he bought new and cannot recall what year.
It is a Fender Precision with the serial
# 597624. Lots of thanks [in advance] Du

This isn't a steel guitar, so I'm moving it to Music from No Peddlers.
According to Fender's tech support page, a Precision bass with that serial number would have been made around 1976 or so.
