Hey all-
I always enjoy oggling over everyone's new purchases on this site, so I thought I would throw on a pic of my new Lazy River weissenborn. This is my first "high-end" instrument so I debated what I wanted to do for a long time and I finally decided to bite the bullet. Rance gave me a great deal on a blem piece of walnut and I couldn't resist.
Its the standard walnut back/sides and spruce top but I had him use walnut for the bridge and fretboard. Forumite Fred Kinbom did the same on his LR and gave me the idea. Thanks Fred!
I plan on trying my hand at open D but would like to try some other tunings as well, possibly DGDGBD since its pretty close the dobro open G I play now. I am not ready to post any sound clips yet, but hopefully in the near future I will have something post-worthy.
Rance was great to deal with, although the cold weather down there caused some delays. Both the looks and sound of the guitar surpass what I was expecting and from what I have heard, the sound should only improve with time.
I guess I am another satisfied Lazy River owner
