Hi everybody,
After reading a recent thread here on the forum I have decided the Shubb SP-2 is a good bar to use for acoustic lap slide. At present I am using a Dunlop Lap Dawg which is a bit tricky getting nice clean single notes. The Shubb SP2 is also a little heavier and will improve my tone especially the bass notes. They are a little rattley sometimes.
On the Eldery website I see a Shubb Pete Grant S62. Is this a miss print and in fact a SP2.
Just wanted to check this out before ordering and maybe receiving the wrong bar.
Thank you
Cheers

Hi Alan!
It sure looks like the SP-2 (also "The SP2s cutaway design was suggested by multi-instrumentalist Peter Grant"). I'm pretty sure they've typed the name wrong - but wait for a second opinion before you order.
Cheers,
Fred

Hi Fred,
Thanks for your advice. I did email Elderly before posting this question but I am sure they didn't understand what I was on about!!!I want to order one of those Golden Gate Extra heavy thumb picks as well. The one you posted a thread on sometime back. I know they usually stock them.
Did you get the mp3s and photo's?
Cheers

Oh, and about the Golden Gate thumbpicks - I've since switched to the heavy one (not extra heavy), as I feel I have better control with that. Maybe you'd better order one of each, to see which one suits you best?

I had this same question a few months ago. I eventually ordered the S62 and yes, I got an SP-2.
