Thanks to Rick Aiello I have another pre-WWII Ric up and running: a Silver Hawaiian ca 1937. The magnets are fully charged and holy cow this baby sounds great! Not like my Bakelite, but really nice.
Thanks Rick! |

I like my Ric Silver Hawaiian also, but gee, it's sure hard to see those silver frets on that silver body. I prefer playing the bakelite.

I agree Keoki. For the longest time my Bakelite drove me crazy in that regard. It's an early model with no fret markings. But I have been playing my Bakelite for long enough now that the lack of markings is not a problem unless I'm in really bad light, or have a light in my eyes. So I'm finding the silver Hawaiian is not as difficult as I had anticipated. I'm really enjoying my new old guitar. |

The UPS scare kinda took some of the "joy" outta her arrival ...
Butt, I'm glad she only got a new "dimple" ... in her derrière ...
What do they say ...

Congratulations Bob,
I'm anxious to hear that sound of a silver Rick. I know that your bakelite sounds cool, like a clarinet sometimes. |

Thanks Dave. You're are most welcome to give her a try. Just give me a holler.
I have ordered a baritone uke gig bag from Musicans Friend that should be a perfect fit, lots of padding and reasonably priced. I'll post here after it arrives.
