Jimmy played steel with the dearly departed and hugely talented roots artist Ray Condo. Any info on him would be appreciated!

thanks,
Drew

Jimmy spent the last few years gigging and recording with Big Sandy and the Fly-rite Boys. Don't know if he still does. Also a very good guitar player. Plays a custum tele made by forumite Mike Black. Super nice guy too.

Saw Big Sandy at Wheatland in 2001. Did Jimmy play an old Sho-Bud?

Yup, that would be the first double neck Sho Bud ever, originally built for Ben Keith in -57, such a cool guitar.

I spoke with Jimmy Roy in Lethbridge, Alberta in June 2006, in between sets of a concert by his latest group, The Knotty Pines, during a western Canada tour. I enjoy recordings of Jimmy's work with Big Sandy, Ronnie (or Ronny) Hayward, Ray Condo, and now, The Knotty Pines.

Here is the Knotty Pine website, with 4 complete performances from their debut CD:
