Desert Rose D-10,9x8 & Emmons LGll D-10, 8x7+1 (Emmons S

Post by Larry Hamilton »

First, the Desert Rose D-10,9x8. Charcoal laquar finish. Chuck Back does beautiful wood work.True Tone p/u's, 19.5 on the E9th and 18.5 on the C6th. Sounds just great!!! I am told by a good friend, that it cuts through like a knife whether it is through my PV112, PV Session 400 or Evans E-200.

I have absolutely no issues with this guitar what so ever, just want to do something different so both guitars must be sold.

Both guitars have the Day setup. The great Terry Bethel helped me set up a "Day" version of his (The late great Jimmy Crawford's) copedent which has a D for the 2nd string.

There are 6 knees on the E9th & 4 knees on the C6th. The first 4 floor pedals go to the E9th. The 4th pedal lowers the 5th string a whole tone.

Any changes can easily be made with a tuning wrench and a pair of needle nose plies.

this is a great guitar for anyone, especially if you want more pedals and knee levers without spending a ton of money.

This guitar would normally go for around $3500+. I'll let it go for $2500 plus shipping in the lower 48. Or pick it up in Dallas at the Jamboree. I'll have it there.

SECOND- Derby Red Le Grande ll, D-10, 8x7+1. Bought brand new from Steel Guitar Nashville in 2000. Same E9th set up as the Desert Rose except the 4th pedal works both necks and only 2 Knees to the C6th.

About 2 years ago the Great Bobby Bowman went throught the guitar and added 2 left knees making a Crawford cluster. Like on the DR I went to the Crawford/Bethel copedent so that left me with and extra knee that I have tied up. I DO NOT have the rods and only one bellcrank for this lever Since I have used them elsewhere But The Emmons Co. can help you out there.

Once again I have no issues at all with this guitar, especially the GREAT Emmons tone.
TrueTone p/u's. 19.5 on the E9th and 18.5 on C6th.

Both guitars have been gigged a little. Can't play out much because of my day job. No bar dings between the necks on either guitar. Both cases are good. The Emmons case does have a hickey on the bottom though.

$2750 + shipping in lower 48 or pick it up at the TSGA. I will only bring it if requested. Let me know by Wed. 2/7/07 if possible. Shipping and insurance is around $60.

Sorry this is so long but it is basically 2 adds. I,m through typing now. Whew!!

I don't know how to post pictures but I can email them. SOLD

Steve, Duncan, and Tommy, My email is larryhamilton@cox.net. Being as computer challanged that I am, the only way I know to send pics is to have your whole email, then I can fire them off to you.

I will for sure have the Desert Rose in Dallas, maybe the Emmons if some wants to see it. To contact me in Dallas call 806-679-9408. This goes for anyone interested also. This is my cell phone.

Thanks for the responses.

If someone would like to post the pictures of my Desert Rose and Emmons, I will send them to you. If not, that's okay too. I need to learn to post pics on of these days even as computer challeged that I am. I know I can do it, I'm a good learner.

thanks!!

To the top for a couple super nice guitars. After the convention in Dallas I hope to sell them on consignment with someone and and the price may not be this low.

I forgot to mention the Desert Rose comes with a Designed 2 Fit cover. Just a little bonus.

The Desert Rose is charcoal color. Different light makes it give off a different color. As shown above it looks brown. Sometimes blueish or greenish and of course charcoal which is greyish.

Desert Rose D-10

Thanks for the photos, Larry. How does one access the square cross rods if changes need to be made on the guitar? On a back of a Zum, there is a metal strip that can be taken off to manipulate those rods. What a cool looking steel. steve t

Larry, thanks for the pictures of the beautiful Desert Rose. I'd have to get rid of one of mine to swing it, but I think you have a great deal there with either the DR, or the Emmons. I have been wanting to try a Desert Rose for a while. My going into debt and making the wife madder than hell finger is itching.

The Emmons is sold. The Desert Rose is still for sale. b0b donation is on its way.
The Desert Rose is a fine, beautiful guitar. Going to do something different and don't even know what, but must sell both guitars to do whatever I am going to do.

David, send me your email address and I will forward a bunch of pictures. I don't have enough computer smarts to do it any other way.

My address is larryhamilton@suddenlink.net.

Thanks for your interest in my guitar.
