Just got a great sounding S-10 p/p and I'm trying to figure out what year it is. It's got a decal rather than a plastic nameplate. It looks like the serial number is either 1108 S with the 1's upside down or 8011 with the S upside down. (?!)

It is 3x4 but it looks as if all four of the knees are a newer design so it may have originally been 3 x 0, I guess. It's drilled for five pedals. The tuners have been replaced and there's no record of what was on there originally.

The seller believes it is a '69. Thoughts on what I should be looking for to figure it out for sure?

Type of changer would narrow it down.
Screws down through the top of the changer into the body
indicate '66-7. Cut tail changer is later 60's.
It can't be much later than that since it's got
the Emmons sticker, instead of the screwed on emblem. Wink

It's a cuttail. Looks like the serial number is 1108. (I'm still not sure why the S in upside-down, though!)

Chris,
I have a Rosewood Mica Emmons S-10 PP S/N 1109-S.
It came with 6 on the floor and NO levers
I just got it restored by Charlie Ward.
He put it back with 3&4 cleaned and polished all metal parts new fretboard.
It has orginal pickup 14.5 ohms.
Also has decal on the front apron.
don't know how to post pics, but it look great.
