New to Board

Post by Patrick Tipton »

Greetings:

I am new to the forum and new to PSG's. I am a long time guitar and banjo player. I have also dabbled with the lap steel and dobro. As a native Texan, I grew up listening to some great pedal steelers, but never had the opportunity to play one. A musician buddy started on me about learning the pedal, and one thing led to another. On Monday, I bought a 70's Emmons D10 push pull with Bob Hoffnar's help.

So far, it looks like this is going to be a great new adventure.

I may be a quiet participant while I try to begin to figure this thing out, but what a great website!

Regards, Patrick

Welcome from Texas.
You never quite get that steel sound out of your ears. I just had to try it, and have learned an unbelievable amount on this Forum.
Good luck and enjoy.

I appreciate the warm welcome - even from the Colorado contingent who just loves the Texans :D In fairness, I took a "wrong" turn a number of years ago and now live in NJ.....go figure.

Howdy Pat: Welcome from a northern New Yorker; you came to the right spot to learn about steel guitars and the players, there-of.A great bunch oof pickers, whom love their instruments and the music which they return to we, the listeners. You will be glad to be called a " FORUMITE." Enjoy,.. Bernie
