David Lindley style session...

Post by Terry VunCannon »

Hi all...I just worked a session for a local singer-writer, Molly McGinn. She wanted a David Lindley style part on her song "Preachers & Thieves". You can check it out on http://www.myspace.com/terryvuncannon ...or on her site http://www.myspace.com/mollymcginn ...hope you enjoy this cut, let me know what you think. She is a great talent & I hope to work with her more in the future.....Terry V.

I like it A LOT.... very spare and plenty of sonic space....

are you willing to provide specifics about the recording, gear, setup etc. Where did you record it?

I love that Lindley sound... he and Lowell loved compression!

Thanks guys, for this song I used my '49 Green/White National Dynamic, into a Tube Screamer, to a Fender Blues Jr., a brass Shubb SP-1 bar & Perfect Touch finger picks, & Fred Kelly thumb pick...we ran the amp mic'ed in another room while I sat in the control room...what fun!!!

Very sweet, TV. That's a different side of your playing that I hadn't heard.

Sorry the PR was broken. Next time, maybe.

I want that gig, Terry. I'm jealous, you kicked my butt, I was not expecting that. Exceptional taste when you obviously (like me) could have overplayed it and shifted focus off that lovely melody. That was really excellent. You should send that link to Uncle Dave.

Very nice, Terry -- I love the feel of the song, and your fills and solo fit perfectly. Great tone, too.
