I had the opportunity to try a new Fender Proreverb 50w, one 12" jensen spkr with my georgeboard. It sounded really beautiful in all the settings I tried. Now I have not had the opportunity to try a steelking and its very hard to find in France.
I would gladly take your hints and insights on those 2 amps.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Bernard

The Pro Reverb is a 50 watt tube guitar amp with a 12" speaker. The Steel King is a 200 watt solid state steel guitar amp with a 15" speaker. They are very different amps in almost every way. The Pro will have a warmer tone. But the Steel King will have more power, more clean headroom, and more versatile EQ controls for steel. I think many people might prefer the Pro for lap steel, but many pedal steelers would prefer the Steel King.

I think (there I go thinking again) you would have to like the SS sound as compared to tubes.
I personally had only two SS Fender amps. I traded off the first one, and gave my niece the the other one, which was an Acousaconic Jr, that was a month old.
Tubes can be a pain in the asterisk to keep up, but they have a different sound in my opinion.
