George Strait performance on CMA Awards

Did anyone else notice George's voice was sounding really strange when he performed Give it Away on The CMA Award show the other night?

They were originally on in November, Kirk-did you see a repeat broadcast just the other night? Because at this point I can't remember what George's voice sounded like.
