Over 300 votes!
Over 300 votes! This is an impressive sampling of the community. The results paint a very interesting picture of what we really value in a steel guitar.

One or another...
Who wouldn't want a shiney Zum, Mullins, Rains, Fessy or one of a hundred other super new or vintage steels. Or maybe an Anapeg or Performance. But an old Spanish proverb goes something like, "Since we can't play what we want, let's play what we got". And I've got a gem, an S-10 3/4 Marlen with a heart of gold. When I know as much steel as it does, maybe I'll buy one of each of those pretty new ones. Right, in my dreams.... Dick Sexton

Marlen!!! That's a name I've been trying to think of! The first PSG I ever got to "mess with" was an old Marlen....Got a photo?Dick Sexton wrote:Who wouldn't want a shiney Zum, Mullins, Rains, Fessy or one of a hundred other super new or vintage steels. Performance
My vote is for the Performance Steel Guitar. I really like mine, great tone and sustain. And a very well made instrument.

Nashville LTD
I have Two Nashville LTD's That I sent back To Gray Rittendery and had them completelly rebuilt. They play and sound better than any of the other steel guitar's I've owned. I've had Mullen, Emmons(P/P's and Legrande SKH,II and III),Carter, GFI, and ZUMSTEEL.
I have yet to play Garys New Rittenberry Guitars but I plan to have him build me a new U-12 on a frame and a half body soon. Here a Pic of My red & black one. Will post the pics of the black one asap.

Yeah
Right now I am using a 76 D-10 Marlen and a 1970 SD-10 Marlen, D-10 has 8&5 and the SD-10 has 3&4. I have also used many other brands as well, GFI is also one of my favorite & I have one of those two for when I get that GFI Feeling!!
