Fulawka D10 for sale

Post by Stephen O'Brien »

Well, it's time. Between work and family, I have no time to devote to playing my beloved Fulawka. Rather than have it stand there idle, giving me dirty looks, I'd prefer that it go to someone with the time to play it.

For those who are not aware, Ed Fulawka makes one of the finest steel guitars ever built. He selects the finest wood, machines all of the parts, and they almost never come up for sale. Ed's mechanism is incredibly smooth and accurate and detuning is almost zero.

Mine is made of birdseye maple on the top and striped ebony on the necks and apron. She has 8 knees and 8 pedals -- the copedant is the exact same as Ricky Davis had on his Fulawka "Blue Darlin". I'll send a copy of the copedant to whoever wants it, but it's mostly a standard Emmons setup. It comes with two cases -- one for the body and one for the pedal bar and legs. It's been out of my house just once and is in new condition. You can find pictures here -- scroll down to where it says Redeye's New Fulawka.

Here's a couple of pictures from the site:

I waited two years and paid $5,000 for this beauty. I'm willing to part with it for $4,500 and will consider any reasonable offer.

What a beautyful gear. If I didn't already order a new guitar from Ed, this would be my guitar indeed.

If Stephen says that this Fulawka is in "new" condition, you can bet the ranch that it is ....I have dealt with Stephen in the past , and his word is good, and so is the gear that he sells...He takes meticulous care of his gear ....Jim

PS...I remember when Stephen was waiting for this pedal steel ...If you're looking to buy a Fulawka, this is the one !!..

Ladies and gentlemen, if you have ever heard the story about "the pearl of great price", then you can look at the price of $4,500, "or any reasonable offer" for this beautiful instrument as well worth it. I actually own Stephen D.'s former S-12, along with being a convicted ZB player/owner and can say that Stephen O's Fulawka has me drooling. It's a good thing that I'm a crappy C6 player, or I would be selling a couple of mine, actually I only own a couple, to buy this Fulawka D-10. In short, if you buy this steel, you WILL love it.
BTW, not to hijack this thread, but Stephen D., I will be getting in tough with you on some pointers about changing the setup on to an Emmons. The old fused left ankle doesn't want to bend the "Day Way".
I hope that I haven't confused the issue with too many conflicting "Stephen" references.

Thanks to all

I want to thank all who posted most graciously on this thread and especially to those who expressed interest in buying it. Yes, it's hard to part with such a unique work of art, but life sometimes demands a level of responsibility that defies self interest. I know it will be appreciated by its new owner and if I need to make music on a lesser instrument, the world will not be any worse off for it.

Thank you.
