"Unreal" is not a strong enough word. He's a got a great new band (this was only their 3rd show of the tour, the drummer started with them the night before).

JD was in fine form. He played 2 different Beard 6-stringers (and Paul Beard was at the next table from me) - a gorgeous, deep body, flame maple reso and a Mike Auldridge model. The maple one had a huge, deep tone, but was almost too powerful, the MA6 cut through everything, but never got harsh. It had great bass, too.

Jerry also played an old Gibson lap on one tune and his custom Tele with a square neck. He was using an old Vibrolux that sounded nice and raunchy.

As one of my friends said after the show, "Holy cr@p!". Indeed.

Oh yeah...Jerry is Da Bomb

btw...the "D" tuned Beard was quilted mahogany.

Sorry I missed you Howard, I always hate to intrude on someone else's night out, so I didn't come over and say hi.

Wow - mahoghany! It was beautiful, and what a sound! Can you tell us about his pickup system? Combined with the mic, it was an amazing tone.

Peter
