Unorthodox squareneck blues
Here's a blues player, Watermelon Slim, who has a very unorthodox way of playing his squareneck resonator. Being a lefty, he plays with the treble strings closest to his body, use a glass bottleneck for a "steelbar", and flatpicks.
That doesn't stop him from performing some of the most haunting blues I've heard from any living blues performer in years,- this guy is for real, and the video is a must for all lovers of authentic blues.

Matt that dobro is a couple hundred dollar Regal, probably upgraded a bit but not a lot of dough at all. I am really impressed with the tone he got! And that voice- wow. He is obviously a guy who has lived in that music for a while, reminds me of so many people I don't want to try to make a comparison... impressive. Thanks for the heads up, Steinar!

Steinar,
Excellent find!! I'm killing time in a hotel room in San Diego, California (yea, working on the road again) and this made my night!
If you've got any other "finds" like this, please send em my way.
