I hope this question's not too lame, but how to play a typical R&R "Memphis Vamp" on the C6 neck? Can this be easily done at the 4th fret in the key of E so that the root note would be a low E? I can do it on the E9 neck at the nut, but I would like to get a lower voicing for it, and haven't figured out how to do it on C6......any other good R&R / Chuck Berry type stuff on C6?
Thanks!

De nada, amigo.
Back in high school, I used to hang out at Pacific Ocean Park (POP), and the Pike in Long Beach. They've been long gone for decades... as have I. But do you remember when Long Beach was a Navy/maritime city? _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Hey Herb, you're a SoCal native?! I often feel like getting out and moving to Texas, but I'm pretty entrenched here with kids and work. When I first moved to L.B. they were in the process of tearing all the Navy stuff down. There are a few old battleships "in mothballs" in harbors off Terminal Island, and they still load munitions onto ships out of Seal Beach, but the Navy is history here. There is still a maritime feel though, with all of the private boats and harbors, and of course the L.A. Harbor is busier than ever. The city itself--particularly the downtown and Pike area--have gone through years of urban renewal.....I don't think there is even one tatoo parlor left downtown . All of the honk-tonks are gone . |
